الملخص الإنجليزي

Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) technology has been rapidly growing up these days and is expected to be supported widely in wireless networks.

VOIP is one of the most important technologies in the world of communication.

There are some important issues in VOIP and Quality of Service (QoS) is the most important one.

There are some other factors that affect QoS such as echo, delay, jitter, packet loss and bandwidth.

This thesis studies the effect of delay on speech quality in VOIP.

One of the sources of the delay is the buffer that already exists in the multiplexing node and also the process that can be done in the packets before sending it to the multicast node.

The problem can be solved using multiplexer –multicast algorithm that combines the data which comes from several streams into a single large packet, where the packet that comes first is sent over multiplexer for multicast.

Simulation result compared with original multiplexer-multicast algorithm that combines multiple channels into one channel, then multiplexer sends all packets at the same time for multicast.

OPNET IT Guru Academic Edition simulator will be used a simulation platform for network performance analysis.
