الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aims at identifying the impact of adopting restructuring strategies on the performance of commercial hardware computer companies .

A descriptive analytical methodology is used .The population of interest consists of 35 hardware computer companies in Dubai.

A random sample comprising of 17 commercial hardware computer companies covering the years 2004-2010 has been taken.

Unit of sampling consisting of CEOs ( 17) and department managers( 126 ).

For the purpose of this study , five core dimensions of restructuring strategies are identified : diversification , mergers , divestiture , acquisition , incentives.

For performance , four scales are identified : profits , sales , job satisfaction , employee involvement.

Using the questionnaire as a tool for data collection,and analyzing that data through statistical techniques like (Anova , multiple regression, stepwise regression , and Scheffe test ).

The findings of the study are : -There is a statistical significance for the impact of restructuring strategies on profits.

Diversification has the highest impact on profits then incentives, divestiture, acquisition and the lowest impact is for mergers.

-There is a statistical significance for the impact of independent variables on sales .

Divestiture has the highest impact on sales then diversification, acquisitions , incentives and the lowest impact is for mergers.

-There is a statistical significance for the impact of independent variables on job satisfaction.

Incentives have the highest impact on job satisfaction then diversification, mergers, acquisitions and the lowest impact is for divestiture.

-There is a statistical significance for the impact of restructuring strategies on employees' involvement.

Mergers have the highest impact on employees' involvement then incentives , diversification, acquisitions and the lowest impact is for divestiture.

- There is a statistical significance for the impact of restructuring strategies on companies' and employees' performance due to the demographic variables (Age , gender, tenure, education, job position, department ).

Also a number of recommendations were put to help managers of these studied companies and other hardware computer companies when restructuring: Management of these commercial hardware computer companies should recognize that thorough planning and preparation is the key ingredient for successful divestment.

Management of these commercial hardware computer companies is also supposed to make continual analysis to precisely indicate the reason affecting profits volatility.

To be alert to changes in the marketplace.

Clarify an exact incentive program goal in theses commercial hardware computer companies and then pinpoint which aspects of the company you wish to improve upon this goal and then select specific employee actions that will enable these improvements.
