halepensis and the 2 related species, P.
brutia and P.
eldarica, cover in natural state and in afforestations enormous surfaces in the mediterranean countries.
The first part of this note contains a synopsis of the main oudets concerning the wood, a short description of their natural area, their ecology and their productivity in the mediterranean region.
The 2d part deals with the international provenance experiment in Morocco, testing 51 seed sources ( 32 origins for the Aleppopine, 14 and 5 respectivily for P.
brutia und P.
eldarica ).
The results, i.e.
the percentage of germination, the height at 6 and 10 months in a nursery are being analysed : P.
eldarica and the greek and israeli provenances among the P.
halepensis are the most vigorous ; P.
brutia is at this stage very much slower growing.
The genotypic heritability on means per provenance is very high for all these characteristics ( 0,94 to 0,98 ).

halepensis et les 2 especes affines, P.
brutia et P.
eldarica, couvrent, a l'etat naturel et dans les reboisements, d'enormes superficies dans les pays mediterraneens.
La premiere partie de cette note comprend un tour d'horizon des principaux debouches en ce qui concerne le bois, une description succincte de leur aire naturelle, de leur ecologie et de leur productivity dans le bassin mediterraneen.
La 2'mc partie traite de l'essai international de provenances au Maroc, qui teste 51 sources de graines ( 32 origines pour le pin d'Alep, 14 et 5, respectivement pour P.
brutia et P.
eldarica ).
Les resultats, a savoir le pourcentage de germination, les hauteurs a 6 et a 10 mois en pepiniere, sont analyses : P.
eldarica, et les provenances grecques et israeliennes parmi les P.
halepensis, sont les plus vigoureux ; P.
brutia, a ce stade est net-tement plus lent.
L'heritabilite genotypique sur les moyennes par provenances est tres elevee pour toutes ces caracteristiques (de 0,94 a 0,98 ).
