The corpus callosum is the largest commissure connecting the two cerebral hemispheres and forms the roof of the lateral ventricles.

There is a potential space between the corpus callosum and the lower surface of the hemispheres.

Normally no CSF is found in this space hut shearing injuries of the corpus callosum can cause leaks of CSF from the ventricles11 In this case report we discuss an accumulation of CSF caused by the insertion of a shunt catheter.

We also review the published data on V-P shunting and its rare complications which deserve special attention.
