Fibromyalgia or fibrositis and other forms of nonarticular rheumatism are a common cause of disability resulting in high proportion of absence from work.

13 out of 157 (8.2%) consecutive patients with rheumatic features, deemed as having primary Fibromyalgia and 5 oat of 72 lupus patients (6.8%) attending Rheumatology clinic, considered as having Fibromyalgia.

Patients with primary Fibromyalgia occurred in thirteen out of 157 (8.2%) patients, of whom eleven patients were female .

Their age ranged between 20 - 45 years ( mean 32.5 ±2.5 years ).The duration of disease ranged between 6 - 36 Months (mean 21±15 Months) .

The most common clinical features included generalized body aches and pain (92%) , fatigue (84%) , stiffness (77%), headache (61%) , anxiety (61%), sleep disturbance (69%) and tired during day or walking up tired (84%) .The sites of tender points were trapezius (84%) , knees( 77% ) , occiput(61%), lateral epicondyle (5J%) , upper gluteal area (38%) , supraspinatus (30%) and greater trochanter (15%), lower cervical areaC5-7 (23%) and second costo-chondral junction (3%) .

Fibromyalgia in systemic lupus patients occurred in 6.8% lupus patients seen in Rheumatology clinic.

They were all females.

Their age ranged between 21 - 43 years(mean 32 ±14 years) .

The duration of disease ranged between 12 - 72 months (mean 42 ±19.2 months ).

The most common clinical features included generalized body aches and pain (100%) ,fatigue (100%), stiffness (80%) , headache (60%) , anxiety (60 ) ,sleep disturbance (80%) and walking up tired during day (80%).

The sites of tender points were trapezius (80%) , knees (60%) , occiput (40%) , lateral epicondyle (40%) and upper gluteal area (40%) supraspinatus (3%), greater trochanter (15%), lower cervical area C 5-7 (23%) and second costo -chondral junction (3%).
