La technologie actuelle permet de mesurer les parametres cinetiques diirant la demarche humame pour une phase de support a la fois.

Les forces de reaction au so sont typiquement obtenues a Laide de captcurs de forces places sur de platformes.

Plusieurs platfonnes de capteurs sont alors requises afin de mesurer ces parametres pour une multitude de cycles de demarche.

Des etudes anteneures ont souligne le besoin pour un nouvel instrument capable de mesurer les parametresd de demarches pour de multiple pas.

Des platformes de force ont ete montees sous la courrote de tapis roulants.

De longues et etroites platformes ont ete developpees et placees sur un tapis roulant specialement concu pour cette etude.

La force de reaction au sol a ete obtenue pour deux sujets a l'aide de capteurs de force eonventionnels amsi qua l'aide du prototype monte sur tapis roulant.

La comparaison de resultats a clairement demontre que la dernie methode etait tres precise quand a la detection de la composante verticale de la force de reaction au sol.

Les composantes mediale-laterale et antero-posterieure etaeient par ailleurs moins precises, de oe fait un nouveau design du capteur est propose.

Present technology provides for the measurement of kinetic data during human gait one stance-phase at a time.

Ground reaction forces are typically recorded via a floor mounted force platform.

Several force platforms are required to record multiple gait cycles.

The need for a device to measure multiple strides has been identified in several studies, force platforms have been mounted under the belt of treadmills, under the legs of treadmills and long narrow force platforms have been developed.

The approach used in this design study was to develop a custom treadmill with instrumentation.

The ground reaction forces for two subjects were recorded with a standard ground mounted force platform and with the prototype force sensing treadmill.

Comparison of the two data sets showed that the treadmill force sensors provided accurate results for the vertical direction.

The fore-aft and medial-lateral forces were less suitable.

Therefore, we propose a new sensor design.
