The study aimed to measure the impact of “xTRIZ”; the inventive managerial problem solving technique, on achieving competitive advantage in some of the industrial companies in Jordan.

The main problem of the study was addressing whether the xTRIZ technique vice versa it’s processes and principles had an impact on achieving a competitive advantage in quality, cost, delivery, flexibility and time in some of the industrial companies in Jordan.

The population of the study consisted of six companies.

The total number of companies that responded to the study were six, allowing for 100% response success to the questionnaire.

The study dealt with the xTRIZ technique, which included the basic xTRIZ process and inventive principles.

Fifteen inventive principles were selected.

The other dimension was competitive advantage and five variables were addressed: quality, cost, delivery, flexibility, and time : The study revealed several prominent results: I.

There was no significant difference between the means of following demographic characteristics (gender, age, experiences, departments, and sectors) regarding perception about the impact of xTRIZ technique, processes and principles as it relates to competitive advantage components; except the qualifications.

The study found that there were significant differences among means of qualifications’ response regarding the flexibility variable in competitive advantage.

The xTRIZ technique, processes and principles have an impact on achieving competitive advantage in some industrial companies in Jordan.

III.

Finally, the study found that the relationships between the xTRIZ technique sub-variables are strongly related with each other.

In addition, the relationship between the xTRIZ technique sub-variables and the JEA (Jordan Export Association) companies’ competitive advantage are also strong.

The study and results also concluded some important recommendations and indicators: A.

Drawing attention to the technique or means of solving administrative problems through a systematic approach and reducing reliance on non-systematic approaches.

B.

Taking advantage of the services offered by the Trizmatic Institute of Innovation / Queen Rania Centre for Entrepreneurship / The Royal Scientific Society; which is the only center in the Arab world specializing in this field.

The center offers specialized courses and practical consultations on TRIZ and xTRIZ.

C.

Benefiting from programs presented by the international community, United States, the European Union and Japan so as to assist industrial companies to gain a competitive advantage through xTRIZ.

D.

A broader understanding and comprehension of all TRIZ and xTRIZ tools is necessary so as to avoid complete reliance on the xTRIZ tools used in this study.
