The 25th campaign at Tell Afis was directed towards continuing the investigation of the major buildings and units of the acropolis for different periods (Fig.

1): the Iron Age Temples sequence of Area A, the Late Bronze Age II residential unit in Area E, the MB fortification system in Area N, the MB I industrial unit and the EB IVB domestic unit in Area E.(1) They all attest not only to the continuity of occupation of the site even in the so-called transitional phases (EB/MB, LB/IA), but also to its emergence as an economic and political regional centre from the LB to the Iron I-III periods.(2)
