الملخص الإنجليزي

In response to the arguments of those who are against the applicability of quality management models to business and industry areas in a higher education context, this paper is aimed at identifying some of the most common quality assurance models for higher education institutions over the last three decades.

These are the Dill’s framework, Transformative model, Engagement model, University of Learning model, Responsive University model, Holistic model, and Massy’s six-domain model.

The extent, to which different quality assurance aspects were present in each model was determined, and the characteristics and applicability of these seven models were reviewed and summarised in tabular format comparing their strengths and weaknesses with one another.

This paper concluded by emphasising the importance of further development and evaluation for quality assurance in order to develop a model that is specialised, organised, and excellence-oriented for higher education institutions.
