Regioselective cyclocondensation reactions leading to phenolic pyrazoles

Phenolic P-diketones I(a-d) were subjected to cyclocondensation reaction with phenylhydrazine under different reaction conditions to give regioisomers Il(a-d) and IV(a-d), the structure of which was confirmed by spectroscopic techniques.

The cytotoxicity and antiviral activity of these compounds were also assessed.
