الملخص EN

The importance of the effect of spillover of adsorbed species on performance of reforming catalysts is presented in this study.

To understand the rates and mechanism of spillover, an overview is presented on the areas where the phenomena is still not well understood.

Factors that affect spillover on reforming catalysts (i.e.

presence of chlorine, metals, water, sulfur) are described first.

Later, the focus is on the effect of spillover during different stages of reforming catalysts such as, catalyst pretreatment, catalyst deactivation, and catalyst regeneration.

Spillover, as a new surface science phenomena, has not been well understood and accepted universally.

Hopefully this study will provide a perspective on the potential implications of these phenomena with particular reference to naphtha reforming.
