In this study, a total of 41 serotypes of Salmonellae were isolated from broiler chicken farms in Damietta governorate.

The serotypes were 13 S.

Enteritidis (31.7%) 8 S.

Infantis (19.5%) 6 S.

Kentucky (14.6%) 3 S.

Chiredzi (7.3%) 7 S.

Typhimurium (17.1%) and 4 S.

Tsevie (9.8%).

A locally prepared bacterin from the isolated S.

Enteritidis strain was examined and compared with a commercial preparation of a probiotic to prevent experimental infection with S.
