The first part of this study deals with the measurement of surface parameters such as dehydration, bulk, tap, and true densities, surface area, porosity, particle size, and pore volume of molecular sieve (13X type), using precise instrumental techniques.

The second part is based on the adsorption of uranium as a function of temperature on molecular sieve.

Wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry was used for measuring uranium solution concentration.

Thermodynamic parameters such as ΔHO, Δ SO, and ΔGO were computed.

The results show endothermic heat of adsorption but a negative free energy value, indicating that the adsorption process is favored at high temperature.

The magnitude Of mean energy of sorption, Es , calculated from Dubinin-Rudushkevich equation, indicated that the process of uranium adsorption on molecular sieve is an ion-exchange process.

The values of isosteric heat of adsorption show that the surface of the molecular sieve is heterogeneous with respect to activity.
