الملخص EN

This research presents the development of lightweight aggregate concrete using fine aggregate that is manufactured from waste polyethylene terephthalate (WPET) bottles.

WPET with the average diameter of 1-3 mm was used with four different contents of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight.

In comparison to the control concrete, the 90-day WPET concrete compressive strength showed that the use of WPET particles up to maximum replacement level of 10% produces concrete with acceptable strength.

However, the ultimate strength of concrete was gained at 5% of cement replacement by weight.

It is concluded that the replacement of cement with 5% WPET improves the compressive strength of concrete compared to the control concrete.
