The linguistic situation in Morocco is vei-y complex.
Moroccan population is diverse and people tend to speak many languages in different regions.Multilingualism is deeply rooted in Morocco and Moroccans are exposed to a host of languages in different social and economic contexts.
It is interesting to note that languages in Morocco do not enjoy the same amount of support.
In fact, there are some languages which still retain a high position in the Moroccan complex linguistic repertoire.
A case in point here is French which many scholars qualify as the langage of the fijture for أاااا؛الا Moroccan intellectuals who have a good command of it.
This language enables them to get involved in the workplace easily.However, in spite of the fact that French is widely used in many political institutions and administrations in Morocco, there is still room for other foreign languages like English which is gradually gaining ground in Morocco.Thus, in the rapid age of globalisation, nothing is impossible and the American system will invade Morocco in different domains of life.
This culminating project aims at investigating students’ use and choice of different languages in A1 Akhawayn University.Most of the results in this study are amazing because many respondents have manifested diverse attitudes toward languages.
It is my intention, therefore to use such findings and compare with other researchers results in order to come up with general conclusions concerning the situation of languages in Morocco.
