Free corrosion potential measurements are widely applied to determine the state of steel in concrete, both in the laboratory and on site.

Various criteria have been suggested in different standards to assess the corrosion condition of the embedded reinforcement bars in structures.

The potential recorded is however, affected by several factors.

The present studies focus on the effect of temperature across the range of 0° - 40°c, on the free corrosion potential measurements for Swedish Iron embedded in Ordinary portland Cement (OPC) mortars containing chloride as an admixture in a completely submerged condition.
