الملخص EN
fas (Apo -1 / CD95) is a widely expressed membrane-anchored protein that induces apoptosis keratimocytes comtitutivcly express the fas antigen and Fas-mediated apoptosis may characterize several pathological conditions affecting human skin soluble Fas (sFas) has been demonstrated in serum by alternative mRAM splicing of Fas receptor .It can antagonize cell surface has function by downregulatin fas-mediated apoptosis, and its level may be regulated by inflammatory cytokines, therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the rule of sfas in patients with different types of psoriasis {vulgaris.
Erythrodermic and pustular} and lies possible correlation to IL-6 and TNF-a Sera from fifty four patients with psoriasis (31psoriasis vulgaris, 14 erythrodermic psoriasis and 9 pustular psoriasis) and 15 healthy controls ere tested for sFas.
IL-6 and TNF-a Increased.serum levels of sFas , lL-6andTNF -a were fuond in all clinical types of psoriasis than controls however, no significant differences were fund between these different types In addition, no significant correlation observed between sFas and either lL-6 or TNF-a while significant positive were correlation was found between IL-6 and TNF –a Furthermore, all the studied parameters were not correlated with disease activity (PASI) these results Suggest that the increased serum levels of Fas, IL-6 and TNF-a may explain two major pathological features in psoriasis; epidermal hyperplasia and Inflammation.
Therefore, we support the possibility of a role Of sFos/Apo-l in the pathogenesis of psoriasis by downregulating Fa\ Ap-1 mediated apoptosis and thus potentiating the action of IL-6 and TNF-a the lack of correlation between sFas and the two inflammatory cytokines could be attributed to their different mechanisms of action
