الملخص الإنجليزي

This paper highlights the challenges faced in managing multiple accreditation systems in an educational institution that provides several patterns of education (undergraduate programs, graduate programs and executive education).

The School of Business at the American University in Cairo managed to become among the 1 percent of business schools worldwide to be "Triple Crown" accredited.

By acquiring the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2006 and re-accredited in 2011, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) both in 2014, the school has become one of only 70 business schools worldwide-out of nearly 14,000-as well as the first in the Middle East and third in Africa, to achieve triple crown accreditation.

In addition, the School of Business Executive Education obtained accreditation by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) in 2011.

The AUC School of Business runs two different levels of education ; academic (both undergraduate and graduate), and non-academic (executive education).

As tough as it is, each pattern of education receives a different form of accreditation, thus abiding by a diversified set of standards or guidelines that would in some cases, require extra effort and synchronization to ensure meeting the different standards of each accrediting agency, either within this same academic pattern, or even the non-academic one.

Moreover, the AACSB and ACCET are American accreditation bodies where their accreditation processes are bit different than AMBA and EQUIS (European accreditation bodies).

As such, it has been of high concern to abide by the diverse accreditation standards, yet successfully maintain the global vision of the entire school and the university at large.

This paper illustrates how the school managed to overcome the challenges encountered and achieve multiple accreditations.
