A program was designed for searching specified files within the astronomical catalogues.

A program (in visual basic language) has been written to make a survey for an astronomical radio sources.

The problem of this work is that there are many files, these files have information, the problem is how to reach these information, the program has been built to solve this problem, this program gives the user facilities to access to any word on any text file in any catalogue.

The program includes six searching cases: searching for any word, searching for emission frequencies, searching for declination coordinates, searching for right ascension coordinates, searching for publication journals names and searching for authors names.

The data files for this program were loaded from the website of Centre de Donnees astronomiques de Strasbourg catalogues (CDS catalogues), (86) files for radio sources (VIII) are loaded in a system as a first data collection to establish the system memory bank.

This memory can be updated by adding more files to the system.

A test for the program was carried out in all searching cases, the results of this test shown: most astronomical radio sources in these files are clusters or groups of galaxies, there are (50) files containing the frequency unit (MHz), (29) files containing the frequency unit (GHz) and no file has frequency unit (KHz), There are (56) files have declination coordinate and (48) files have right ascension coordinate, these files contain publication journals names such as: (Astron.

J.) in (6) files, (Astron.

Astrophys.

Suppl.) in (8) files, and (Mon.

Not.

R.

Astron.

Soc.) in (18) file, also there are authors names in ii these files such as: (Hales S.E.G.) in (7) files, (Baldwin J.E.) in (8) files and (Gregory P.C.) in (2) files.

The speed of searching in one file at this program (the time that the program takes to make the searching) is a few seconds while the manually searching or the searching in internet take couple of minutes or even 10 minutes, in addition to that the searching in this program is more accurate than the searching in the internet or manually
