Cost-benefit analysis : proposal for analyzing solid-waste collection in Ajman Municipality, UAE

This is a hypothetical study that aims at handling the chronicle problem of solid waste collection in the Municipality of Ajman by using a cost-benefit technique .

The study employs different methods and techniques to analyze and manipulate the solidwaste problem in Ajman Municipality.

It aims also to illustrate the need for and techniques of cost-benefit analysis, taking into account all the definitions of this subject including, discount rate, and political and economic studies which lead the City Council of Ajman and the Mayor to make a rational decision to remedy this urgent problem.

The study proposes three hypothetical alternatives (methods) for solving this problem.

The result of this study indicates that adopting Method #2 will succeed because the actors who favor this method have the power and authority to support it.
