Acute renal failure after cardiac catheterization and coronary artery bypass graft in an elderly patient

We report the occurrence of atheroembolic disease in an elderly patient with coronary artery disease who had cardiac catheterization followed by coronary artery bypass graft.

The patient developed acute renal failure and extra-renal manifestations with biochemical and clinical evidence of deep organ involvement which ended in death due to severe cardiac failure despite improvement of renal function.
