Oral manifestation of histiocytosis X : a review of 41 cases

Langerhans cell histiocytosis [granulomatosis]is a rare disease of Langerhans’ cells, and because of occasional involvement of the jaws it is important in the field of dentistry.

In this study, 41 cases of Langerhans’ cell histiocytosis were collected from Pathology Departments of Mofid and Taleghani hospitals as well as Dental School of Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, 14 patients [34.1%]had oral manifestations that are reported here
