الملخص AR
تهـدف الدراسـة الحالیـة إلـى البحـث فـي مـدى فاعلیـة تعلـم مهـارات مـا وراء المعرفـة فـي تحـسین الاستیعاب القرائي لدى الطلبة في دروس اللغة الانكلیزیة.
ضم مجتمع البحـث جمیـع طلبـة الـصف الثــاني فــي قــسم التربیــة و علــم الــنفس / كلیــة التربیــة / جامعــة الموصــل للــسنة الدراســیة 2009-2010 أخـذت عینــة قــصدیه مــن مجتمــع البحــث بعــدد 95 طالبــا : 51 ذكــور و 44 إنــاث لتمثــل المجموعـة التجریبیـة و المجموعـة الـضابطة.
أعـد الباحـث اختبـارا تحـصیلیا فـي الاسـتیعاب القرائـي ضــم 36 فقــرة.
أســتخدم الباحــث تحلیــل التبــاین ذي الاتجــاهین لعینتــین مــستقلتین لتحلیــل بیانــات البحث.
أظهرت النتائج أن مهـارات مـا وراء المعرفـة لهـل أثـر فـي تنمیـة الاسـتیعاب القرائـي للطلبـة .كمـا أظهـرت النتـائج أن الإنـاث فـي المجموعـة التجریبیـة حـصلن علـى متوسـط درجـات أعلـى مـن المجـامیع الأخـرى وكـان متوسـط الـدرجات ذات أهمیـة إحـصائیة.
و هـذا یـدل علـى أن الإنـاث كـن أكثر تأثرا بإستراتیجیة التدریس.
و في نهایة البحث تم تقدیم عدد من التوصیات.

The Present study aims at investigating the effect of metacognition skills on improving students` reading comprehension in English Language classes.
The population of the study comprises the second – year students in the Department of Education and Psychology/ College ofThe Present study aims at investigating the effect of metacognition skills on improving students` reading comprehension in English Language classes.
The population of the study comprises the second – year students in the Department of Education and Psychology/ College of Education/University of Mosul for the academic year 2009-2010.
