الملخص EN

Forty adult cows, 3-7 years old were used for studying the effect of fascioliasis on liver functions as well as the efficacy of some fasciolicidal drugs.

The animals were divided into 4 equal groups.

The first 3 groups (A, B and C) were naturally infected by Fasciola and treated with netobimin, nitroxynil and triclabendazole respectively.

The 4th group (non infected and untreated cows) considered as control group.

Parasitological examination of faecal samples revealed that the netobimin was highly effective against mature flukes while nitroxynil and triclabendazole were highly effective against mature and old immature flukes.

The biochemical analysis of serum revealed an increase of AST, ALT activities, total, direct and indirect bilirubin values were seen in all animals of groups.

A, B,C and D one day pre-treatment.

Meanwhile, the total serum protein, albumin and albumin-globulin ratio was decreased in all infected cows.

Such changes of biochemical parameters returned to normal values 28 days post treatment.
