This research paper studies valuation practices in the Moroccan context, especially of publicly held companies and brokerage firms.

/ measure the extent ٠؛ which valuation methodologies that are taught in financial textbooks ٠٢^ applied in practices.

I address the question ofvaluation methodologies that arefi'equently used, and how they are implemented.

I found that a significant number of financial analysts use discounted cashflows (DCF).

However, «٠/ all financial analysts that use DCF relate the discount rate to the cost ٠/ capital.

Some ٠/ them base their valuation technique using DCF by implying a subjective discount rate.

Additionally, analysts prefer to use more than one valuation methodology, !present evidence that there is ٠ positive correlation between objective methodologies that are ٠ محءءهه« fundamentals.

Similarly, the ،،ءء ofsubjective valuations that are based on subjective criteria is correlated with the use of other subjective methods.

Still, the awareness ٠/ fundamentals is not questionable.
