الملخص EN

The study aimed to identify the main trends of research and methodology in organizational innovation (01) in Saudi public organizations.

It adopts survey method and content analysis approach.

It used a convenience sample which included a range of (36) theses conducted on OI and submitted to the five Saudi universities in the period from 1418 until 1433 H.

The results indicated that most of the studies have focused on studying causal factors of 01, and that the majority of these studies conceptualized 01 as a dependent variable.

The results also indicated that all theses pertain to field studies.

Most of these studies use the descriptive research method.

Studies have been conducted on the agencies and various governmental institutions.

The level of analysis in all of these studies is an individual one.

Most of these studies focus on measuring the 01 through the skills possessed by the employees using the questionnaire.

All the studies use descriptive statistics in addition to some inferential statistical techniques such as simple correlation, one-way ANOVA, and the “T” test.

Based on the results, the study introduced an analytical framework for the study of 01.

This framework consists of the following three dimensions: determinants’ dimension; type of 01 dimension; and consequences of 01 dimension.
