الملخص الإنجليزي

Internet usage has increased considerably over the past few years in Morocco.

More and more people have being using this medium because they have come to realize that it can help them perform their daily activities more efficiently as well as achieving long term objectives.

Many companies and institutions have followed this growth and started providing their services directly on the web.

However, many of them still encounter difficulties in doing so due to high development costs or to lack of software engineering skills within the organization.

Launched in 2007 by the Moroccan Ministry of Education, the GENIE Program was designed to facilitate the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the nation’s schools by directly targeting the end users, such as teachers, students, and parents.

Such a large program could have benefitted from having an online management interface to track and monitor the achievements realized at each school level, all over Morocco.

As is often the case in many other large initiatives, such an interface was never developed, because of its apparent difficulty, both in an administrative and technical levels.

This project is about the development of a web application to manage the GENIE Program projects, relying on the most recent technologies in Java-based Web Development.

This will demonstrate the growing efficiency and accessibility of Java-based Web Development tools and their usefulness in the fine management of large scale projects such as GENIE.
