The study carried out at the outpatient clinic in Al–Hindeya general hospitalover a period of five months.

The study aims to find the proportion of glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients and the factors associated with inadequate control.

Fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin were used to assess glycemic control.

Patients, socio-demographic characters were collected to evaluate the factors related to inadequate control.

An HbA1c level of 7% and more was used as an indicator of inadequate control.

We found 78.3% of the patients had HbA1c level ≥7 %.
