الملخص EN

Six mango genotypes viz.

Wad-Sirare, Sanosyiah, Badr, Bit-Baday, Shabbala and Al-Shareef and the cultivar Abu-Samaka were evaluated in terms of some physico-chemical properties (length, width, circumference of fruits, percent of flesh and fibre, TSS, ascorbic acid content and total titratable acidity), and yield components (fruit weight, and number and weight of fruits per tree) at full maturity of fruits as well as storage period for three successive seasons (2009-2012).

The results revealed that each genotype showed unique characteristics.

Significant differences were noted among genotypes for all recorded parameters except the weight of fruits.

Fruits of genotypes Wad-Sirare, Badr and Al-Shareef have relatively round shape and that of Sanosyiah, Shabbala, Bit-Baday and Abu-Samaka have elongated shape.

The highest flesh and the lowest fibre contents were associated with Wad-Sirare genotype.

The differences in fruit weight among genotypes were not significant; however the genotype Wad-Sirare was noted to have the highest fruit weight and Abu-Samaka cultivar was the lowest but with significantly greater number of fruits per tree than the other genotypes.

Weight of fruits per tree of Wad-Sirare genotype was significantly greater than the other genotypes except for Abu- Samamka cultivar.

Significant differences were noted among genotypes in terms of ascorbic acid content and total titratable acidity; the genotypes Al-Shareef, Sanosyia, Wad-Sirare and Badr recorded greater values of ascorbic acid than the other genotypes.

Significantly greater TSS was associated with Sanosyia and Wad-Sirare than the other genotypes.

Generally, Wad-Sirare genotype seemed to be a promising mango genotype due to its excelling yield components and the tested quality parameters
