Water supply network loss is an international problem in developed countries as well as developing countries.

The situation becomes more critical in countries suffering from water shortages like Jordan.

The effect of the global climate change is expected to intensify the water shortage problem in Jordan.

In addition to that, the gap between water supply and demand is widening due to development and a relatively high population growth rate, and to the increasing number of displaced Syrian Refugees in Jordan and especially in Al Karak governorate which suffers water loss reaches up to 60.1%.

This study aims at utilizing GIS technology in the implementation of the spatially related methodologies to reduce water losses.

GIS technology was used to analyze a section of a water distribution system as study area.

In this study the management of water loss in water supply system covers three major steps:1- Data Acquisition and Water Audit 2.

Intervention Action Items and 3- Evaluation step.

The results show that major causes of water loss are leaks and illegal uses.

This is due to poor management and lack of enforcement of laws and sanctions against the perpetrators.

GIS maintenance and operation model was proposed in this study, and as a result of application this model, corrosion appears to be the most determinant factor in the pipe failures especially in Galvanized Iron.

During the study period ( 6 months) the amount of water loss was reduced from 89000m3 to 59383 m3.

IWA practice was used to determine and account the component of water and assessing water losses.
