This research aims to study the oppression and process of liberation of the female character Celie in the Afro-American author, Alice Walker's novel The Color Purple(1982).In The Color Purple, Walker does not present the persecution and the struggle of the black woman in particular, and woman in general only, but she suggests and draws the ways that may help women representing by Celie's struggle to free herself from the domestic violence, patriarchy and sexual harassment.

The protagonist,Celie, manages to change her attitude from a sexual abused , weak , oppressed woman and victim into a strong and independent one, physically and spiritually.
