الملخص الإنجليزي

The significance of Ted Hughes’s poetry is discussed in this study, Its aim is to study Hughes’s Literary works which made him England’s Laureate in his time.

It also studies the relation between animal and man that has been emphasized in his poetry, in addition to the role played by his wife, Sylvia Plath.

Her suicide affected him and his way of writing.

The study makes use of the descriptive and analytical methods in dealing with and assessing Ted Hughes's poetry and its significance and symbolism.

The sample of the study is some of Ted Hughes's poetry as determined by the requirements of the research.

This study analyses Hughes’s poetry from three aspects: - Animalism and its role in his achievement .

- His visionary poems about man's position in this world.

- The lyrical poems of Birthday Letters are explored as well.
