Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is one of the major autoimmune and demyelination diseases of the central nervous system (CNS).

This shows a particular pattern of antibodies, it is Oligoclonal IgG in cerebrospinal fluid of multiple sclerosis patients, it shows an inflammatory activity of the lymphocytes within the CNS.

The presence of these antibodies can be investigated using Isoelectric Focusing method, followed by Immunoblotting, where Oligoclonal Bands appear in the CSF and not in the serum of the patient of MS in all stages of the disease.

Our study aimed to examine the sensitivity and specificity of Oligoclonal Bands IgG test in patients with multiple sclerosis, compared with patients with other neurological diseases (OND), and compare this method with the common diagnostic methods such as evoked potential and IgG Index test.

This study included two groups of patients: The first group consisted of 50 MS patients (28 females and 22 males).

While the second group consisted of 25 patients with OND diseases (15 females and 10 males).

The results showed that age, gender, and age of onset has no influence on the the disease, while the type of the disease, specially Relapsing Remitting "RR" type, has the susceptible affect on it.

The sensitivity of the method was to a level of 90% while, the specificity of was at 92%
