الملخص الإنجليزي

As more and more new mobile multi-media services are becoming available, wireless communications are fast evolving in order to meet the rapid growth in data rate for many applications and services.

Much effort has been invested in the field of wireless communication networks, aimed especially at enhancing the Quality of Service experienced by end-users.

Unlike traditional wireless networks, in which all communications are done through a central node, ad-hoc networks; provide more flexibility, where all nodes can communicate directly with an independence of a fixed central node.

Therefore, multiple relays could cooperate to complete a specific communication process.

Cooperative relay enhances the performance of the system where there are protocols applied at the relay, Amplify and Forward (AF) and Decode and Forward (DF).

This thesis addresses the CCI and studies the impact of CCI on the performance of wireless ad hoc networks.

Dual hop Amplify and Forward (AF) relaying network with the presence of CCI at both relay and destination is analyzed.

A closed form expression for the probability density function (PDF) and the cumulative density function (CDF) for the upper bound on the end-to-end signal-to-interferenceplus- noise-ratio (SINR) at the destination is derived.

Moreover, outage probability and average symbol error probability (ASEP) expressions are obtained.

Additionally, multi-hop system is studied and compared to dual-hop system.

It should be noted that co-channel signals at both the relay and the destination are independent and identically distributed (i.i.d).

Besides, cooperative diversity is investigated for dual hop AF relaying using SC combining.

The moment generation function (MGF) for the upper bound on the end-to-end (SINR) at the destination is derived and used to obtain the ASEP expression.

Numerical results show the performance of the network over different channel conditions and how the CCI deteriorates the system performance.

It is assumed that all signals through the network including co-channel signals are transmitted through fading channels.
