Sale of Awqaf properies : selling a mosque

السؤال

Can we sell a mosque in the United Kingdom to any person to be converted into flats or anything else ? The reason being we have purchased a large building but we need funds to convert it. The current mosque used to be a corner shop and was converted into a mosque over thirty years ago. About twenty years ago we doubled the size of the existing mosque by building a new extension from the foundations. It was the first Jamie mosque in our town. I would greatly appreciate your help.
