Prohibition of Riba and its rationale : is interest really prohibited, the benefits of interest !

I am confused about the interest thing in Islam. I think it was something was the people at that time it’s not applicable now is that right. I can prove it to you something with the help of economics. If you guys e mail me back then I’ll tell you how interest is fair with the person who is lending money
