Permissibility or prohibition of insurance : life insurance

السؤال

Dear Dr Kahf, Assalamu Alaykum, I work for a software company , as part of my benefit package my company has got an insurance policy for medical and a life insurance cover. Can I enjoy the benefit from these insurance policies ? Can my family benefit from the life insurance policy ? The insurance policy is with a non-Islamic insurance company. I haven’t signed any documents with these insurance companies and my company has signed the contracts. Barakllah Feek. Regards Rifai
