الملخص الإنجليزي

The hormonal and biochemical disturbances play an important role in developing the cases of infertility.

Therefore, this study aims at investigating the cases that relate to a number of hormonal and biochemical changes among the women who were diagnosed by infertility in the governorate of Ma'an.

This study emphasized the connections between the levels of hyroid gland hormone, Prolactin hormone as well as the other sexual hormones, including Estrogen, Progesterone and the luteinizing hormone (LH) .

The study sample consisted of (151) married women who attend Ma'an public hospital whose age ranged between (20-40) years, which represents the age of fertility.

The study sample was divided into three groups: the fertile group (27) women, primary infertility ( 82) women , and secondary infertility (42) women.

The body mass index was measured, and the samples were collected in tubes.

Then, the women were asked many questions regarding symptoms, such as hair loss, breast pain, the coming down of milk out of the breast as well as the irregular menstrual cycles.

The collected samples of blood were analyzed in order to determine the levels of blood sugar, total cholesterol, the high-density cholesterol, the low-density cholesterol, the triglycerides, the thyroid hormones, as well as Estrogen , Prolactin, Progesterone and the luteinizing hormone (LH) .

The results showed that there is a high percentage of prolactin abnormalities among the women who have primary and secondary infertility (90%) and (92%) respectively, there are also abnormalities in the thyroid gland which reached 90% among 93% of the women who have primary and secondary infertility.

The results showed that there is a positive significant relationship between the thyroid gland's hormone and infertility.

There is also a positive significant relationship between the levels of TSH and the other hormones, including Prolactin (r=0.77; p=0.01), Estrogen (r=0.0601 ; p=0.004), Progesterone(r=0.537; p=0.002), LH(r=0.717; p=0.002), and FSH(r=0.698; p=0.002).

while there is a statistically negative relationship between fertility and the level of LDL (r=0.326; p=0.022), and HDL (r=0.223; p=0.123).

The study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between infertility and the thyroid gland's hormone and Prolactin.
