[Zakah on additional savings]

السؤال

As-Salam `Alaykum ! I wanted to ask you that if a person's savings is based on salary then what would be the Zakah. If on 1st Ramadan he has 1000 dollars and saves 500 dollars every month and reaches to 7000 savings at the end of the year. Still he has to pay Zakah on 7000 even though that amount wasn't in the savings throughout the lunar year but only in the end.
