الملخص الإنجليزي

The construction industry plays an important and vital role for development of the countries .

The development of construction industry depends upon the quality of construction projects, Quality is the key factor and important for the success of construction projects.

The researcher carried out a study about Applying the Total Quality Management (TQM) Principles (top management's commitment ,focus on the customer , continuous improvement, Employees empowerment , The relationship with suppliers ) to a project of construction school building and taking one of the schools that has been created by the General Directorate of school buildings as a case study .

General Directorate awarded the work to the (kawkab Al Iraq) company of General Contracting .

This study aims to assess the reality of applying the principles of total quality management in implementation of school construction project.

A questionnaire has been designed to collect the data .

A statistical analysis was used to test the data obtained by questionnaire.

The descriptive methods have been adopted in the study .

The Importance of this study is the effective role towards achieving integration between the total quality concepts and applying it in constructing the school, also achieving the investment of available resources from the materials , equipment and human energy .TQM contribute to achieve the organization's goals , which made the cost commensurate to the financial capacity , therefore, the system should be build for applying total quality in implementation of school buildings, with the requirements of finding appropriate methods to achieve the total quality management .

Through using statistical analysis the results showed that : There is statistically significant effect In the case of applying the principles of Total Quality Management.

It conclude that applying the principles of total quality management contributes in improvement of the quality of a school buildings project , also to achieve investment efficiency of the available resources of raw materials and equipment .

In this study the researcher noticed that should be revision of quality systems which are used currently , and formulate it to suit with the principles of total quality management in all its details to keep up with the world's developments
