الملخص الإنجليزي

-This study aimed to investigate the difficulties facing upper basic stage Students in learning reading skill in English language at AL.Karak district from their perspective.

In addition, the study examines the effect of student's variables (gender and grade) in reading skill difficulties in English language.

In order to achieve the study objectives, the researcher used a questionnaire after reliability and validity were checked.

The sample consisted of (546) students with a sum of (10%) of the whole population.

The results were as follows: 1.

The level the difficulties facing students of upper basic stage in learning reading skill in English language in Al.

Karak district from their perspective related to ( curriculum ) was high.

2.

The level the difficulties facing students of upper basic stage in learning reading skill in English language in Al.

Karak district from their perspective related to (Teacher) was moderate.

3.

The level the difficulties facing students of upper basic stage in learning reading skill in English language in Al.

Karak district from their perspective related to (Students) was high.

4.

The level the difficulties facing students of upper basic stage in learning reading skill in English language in Al.

Karak district from their perspective related to (means and teaching methods) was moderate.

-There were not statistically significant differences at (0,05 ≥a) in the difficulties encountered by students in learning reading skill in English language at Al-Karak district due to their gender.

5.

There were statistically significant differences at (0,05 ≥a) in the difficulties encountered by students in learning reading skill in English language at Al-Karak district due to their grade .In the light of these findings some recommendations were stated
