الملخص الإنجليزي

This study is aimed to know the factors affecting the bid/no bid decision in Al- karak governorate for the construction contractors and also to encourage the bidders to participate and compete strongly in the construction tenders, with minimum level of conflicts and maximum level of benefits for both contractors and clients.

The objectives of the study were achieved through the case study approach, the data was collected through a case study showing the implemented construction projects in Al- Karak Governorate within the period (2000-2015 ) , Descriptive statistics were used throughout in research .

The study results showed that, the tender amount (project size), the fixed bid bond, the project liquidated damages, the projects had advanced payment, the experience of the contractors are the most critical factors affecting contractors' decision to bid or not.

The research recommended the clients to estimate the project duration and its cost precisely from the initial proposal stage and also encourage the advanced payments policy for the contractors .

In this study the contractors are recommended to setup continuous development and training programs for their staff and provide them with supportive practical solutions for any problems occurred during the life cycle of the projects
