التشخيص المصلي و الجزيئي لفايروس تقزم و اصفرار الشعير Barley yellow dwarf virus و سلالاته و انتشارها في العراق

Barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) and its strain PAV, MAV and RPV have been diagnosed by ELISA technique using polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies.

The results showed the spread of BYDV in most of barley fields in Iraq.

Nineveh governorate recorded the highest infection rates 30% then Baghdad governorate 26% the less infection rates 8% and 10% were in Al-Najaf and Wasit respectively, the results also showed the spread of PAV strain with the rate 75% from the total infected random samples.

The most prevalent strain PAV was diagnosed using Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) technique following two methods, total ribonucleic acid extraction from the infected plant method and Immunocapture Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (IC-RT-PCR).

The results showed the efficiency of the (IC-RT-PCR) method in the detection of the virus from the traditional method (RT-PCR).
