الملخص EN

University spin-offs have been receiving increasing attention now days from academia, governments, and policymakers because not only do they generate innovations, productivity, and jobs for regional economies, they also make a significant contribution to university productivity and creativity.

As these days Universities now play a major role in economic and social development, its new mission is transforming the traditional university into an entrepreneurial university.

This entrepreneurial activity has mainly been carried out by transferring technology to industry; merely creating through spin-off activities.

University spin-off activity gives exposure to university students and potential conflicts of interest between focused industry and academic work.

It works like a company by a group of teachers, members of a society in the university or a research group.

In this paper, we discussed those institutes in Pakistan, which are working on this concept and their part and support towards commercial industry.

We performed hypothetical analysis by devising research questionnaire to check impact on commercial industry with and without support of Spin-off activity.

We have taken two corporate companies of Pakistan whose activities where compared to their own previous financial years i.e with or without Spin-off Activity.

In addition to this, we also performed ratio analysis of the same firm.

The aim of this paper is to analyze what is more influential: specific characteristics of the regional environment of the spin-off under public programs to support university spin-offs.

This study addresses some fundamental questions to contribute to the theory-based understanding of university spin-offs: How do the entrepreneurial capabilities of founding teams influence the performance of university spin-offs? How do the social networks of founding teams contribute to the process of the university spin-offs?.
