This work reports the names of the multiple spaces in Algiers.
We explain language policy that governs the symbolic range of different strategies serving to mark the ownership of spaces.
The presentation of different languages that make the geographical environment aims to showcase that the urban space is a social product.

Ce travail rend compte de la dénomination des espaces à Alger.
On y explique la politique linguistique qui régit la portée symbolique des différentes stratégies servant au marquage et à l’appropriation des lieux.
L’exposé des différentes langues qui constituent l’environnement graphique vise à démontrer que l’espace urbain est un produit social.
