The post-colonial Thought represents one of the outstanding outcomes of the Western intellectual arena in the Twentieth Century.

Thinkers in this field have sought to highlight the importance of language and narration and the way they are used to respond and resist to the other symbolically.

One of the most prominent writers having adopted this tought is “Aimé CESAIRE”; he made use of mechanisms in his various works, in plays in particular where he expressed the symbolical resistance idea.

This paper will examine the counter-discourse in his play “A Tempest” , together with canonical texts from the western heritage, showing its focing of the stereotyped image created by western postcolonial works.
