The purpose of this work is to study the clinical and radiological features of mucoceles and describe the principle, indications of endoscopic endonasal surgery.
We conducted a retrospective study of 37 cases of sinus mucoceles operated in our ENT department.
The ethmoido-front mucoceles were the most common (17 cases).
The CT examination confirmed the diagnosis of mucocele in 27 patients.
Nine patients were operated by external approach, twenty six by endonasal route and two by combined surgical approach.
The recurrence of the mucocele was observed in 5 patients with a mean of 21 months.
Conservative endonasal surgery remains the main treatment of mucocele.
However, we need sometimes to perform an external or a combined way.
It depends on the location and the extent of the mucocele
الملخص FRE
-Le but de ce travail est de d’étudier les caractéristiques cliniques et radiologiques des mucocèles et préciser les indications de la chirurgie endoscopique endonasale.
Nous avons mené une étude rétrospective portant sur 39 mucocèles sinusiennes opérées dans notre service.
Les localisations ethmoïdo-frontales étaient les plus fréquentes (17 cas).
L’examen tomodensitométrique a permis de confirmer le diagnostic de mucocèle chez 27 patients.
Neuf patients ont été opérés par voie d’abord externe, vingt-six par voie endonasale et deux par voie combinée.
La récidive de la mucocèle a été constatée chez 5 patients avec un recul moyen de 21 mois.
La chirurgie par voie endonasale reste le traitement de première intention des mucocéles.
Cependant, la voie externe garde certaines indications selon le siège et l’étendue de la mucocéle
