الملخص الإنجليزي

Since the beginning of twentieth century, the Islamic cities are facing a lot of distortion and abuse by the Orientalists through their researches.

They tried to prove the lack of Muslims contribution and Knowledge in the city planning and civic life.

In addition, they tried to confirm that Muslims were traveler nomads, they alleged the cities which were build in the Islamic ages were military, extension to byzantine, roman, and Persian cities, and they have never been neither developed nor facilitated the inhabitants nor have planning methodology.

These views and others motivated me to prepare this research, which aims to introduce the Islamic city planning model, and to show the cultural features of the Islamic city and its humanity dimensions.

The researcher has replied to the allegations by analyzing the Islamic city features, its planning theories and its offered facilities.

Further, european cities were explained and compared with Islamic cities.

Finally, the researcher debunked the Orientalists views and tried to prove the Muslims sharing during all ages in city planning through explaining the development phases and theories of the Islamic city.
