الملخص الإنجليزي

The city of Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world, it contains architectural monuments over a long history of nations.

The old city is a symbol of Islamic civilization because it contains the most important milestone after the al-Haram and Al-Nabawi mosque, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding mosques, palaces, gates, religious schools and other archaeological buildings.

Old city suffers from many problems, the most important problems are the overpopulation and the architectural and urban bad condition of buildings, as a result of the zionist urban planning policies.

The old city and its neighboring areas were classified as a historical area under the protection of monuments within the so-called Holy Basin (areas not to touch).

According to the Master Plan 2000, any urban expansion in the old city is prohibited and restricted, which lets to further overcrowding in the Islamic neighborhood in particular.

The Master Plan also described the Arab residential areas as a villager, non planned areas, and their land ownership was unclear.

This study aims to present the most important planning policies of the zionists in jerusalem highlighting its negative effects on Arab quarters and the status of the Old ctiy of Jerusalem in the zionist concept.
