الملخص الإنجليزي

This thesis deals with the multipath propagation problem in the un-derwater acoustic (UWA) channels.

Receiver diversity is one of the used techniques to limit the effects of the multipath on the UWA system.

The design of the UWA system is discussed in detail, then the receiver diversity techniques are utilized in the performed system design as a Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) water systems.

Acoustic communication in Underwater Wireless Communication has several challenges due to the presence of fading and multipath so the channel cannot be modeled using standard empirical formulas, so the pre-sented UWA channel model holds under achievable conditions to obtain the model that will be used and enhanced using the SIMO diversity.

Then a comparison of the UWA channel performance without any supplementary methods for the bandwidth efficient modulation techniques (M-array Phase Shift Keying (MPSK)) is considered in UWA channels.

Then an improbable in the bit error performance is found to be a improved in the SIMO, UWA systems.

The performance of the proposed system evaluated and compared us-ing the output values of the signal to noise ratio (SNR) and the bit error rate (BER).

Simulations of the channels are performed and the obtained results are compared before and after SIMO for underwater environment is per-formed.
